About me: My Name is Wendy Vaniglia and I LOVE stories!
I found my story in the snapshots of my life. 16 years ago my middle daughter, Candi, died at the age of 13. In the midst of devastating pain and grief I heard a woman talking on the radio about how we were in danger of losing our photos because of unsafe storage methods and forgetting precious memories because we aren’t taking the time to document our stories. Years ago, people used to call photographs STILLS. I love that word because it reminds me to BE STILL with my photos. When I am still with my photos it helps me to Remember, Reflect and Renew my Life. Most of us hold onto snapshots of treasured moments. Unless we give voice to those photos the heart of the story is destined to be lost. Research tells us using photos works an area of memory often lost without that visual tool. Learning to write and share our stories is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves and for each other.
